Friday Favorites Sept. 28
I have a ton of REALLY good ideas for posts, but I’m tired y’all…I mean, BONE tired. My insomnia is rearing it’s ugly head again, and I’m struggling to function properly. It’s messing with my mood, my outlook, and my creativity. So, after sitting here for ages struggling to put finishing touches on other posts, I realized that I need to cut myself some slack…and do something fun instead. Hence, a quick Friday Favorites Post. Nice and short, and easy to wrap my exhausted brain around!
These are five things I’m loving…today…right this second…as I type…in my current state of mind. It may change tomorrow! LOL
This Is Us
Who else is addicted to this show, and super excited that it’s back on tv?? This Is Us hurts my soul, but in such a good way that I always come back for more. The season 3 opener didn’t disappoint, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. I think it will be interesting to see this foray into the future, and seeing our favorites aged and grown. We’ve been watching Mandy Moore aged for the past 2 seasons, so to see Sterling K. Brown and Chris Sullivan with heavy gray in their hair and wrinkles took me a minute to get adjusted to, but now I want to know what’s going to happen next. This Is Us airs on NBC at 9/8c.
I was SO excited about our launch of Scotland inspired jewelry, and wasn’t disappointed when my first order of goodies arrived at the house. I did a live unboxing in my VIP group, and dragged my daughter into the mix, which is always fun. When we opened up these Royal Thistle Stackable Rings, both of us immediately fell in love! Since then, I have had one or both of these beauties on my fingers almost every day. They are unique, feminine, and unexpected enough to make me happy every time I look down at my hands. The pair of rings are $48 in my boutique.
I am currently obsessed with this album! 13 classic Elton John songs reimagined by contemporary artists, it is on heavy rotation in both my car and my house. I’ve linked the image above to Amazon, as I do have prime and can listen with my membership…but I mainly listen on Spotify. So if you click here, it’ll take you to the album if that’s your music app of choice. My personal favorites are Tiny Dancer by Florence + The Machine (who I’m going to see in concert on Oct 5th!!!), Bennie and the Jets by P!nk & Logic, and Someone Saved My Life Tonight by Mumford & Sons. There are a few covers that fell short in my eyes, but the standouts more than made up for them!
If you are a long time follower/reader of mine, you know how much I love the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith (otherwise known as J.K. Rowling). I’ve talked about it in LIVEs, random posts, conversations with strangers, you name it. If you like suspenseful mystery/thriller novels with phenomenal dialogue, where you absolutely won’t have it all figured out until it’s laid bare, these are the books for you. I’m putting this latest one in my faves, even though I haven’t started it yet, because I’m just so damn happy it’s in my house!! My son claimed first dibs on it, so while I’m finishing Dracul by Dacre Stoker & J.D. Barker, he’s reading Lethal White. And according to the boy (well, technically man…), it is AMAZING so far! Look for a review soon.
Last but not least on my Friday Favorites for this week, we have a food item. Quest Protein powder has become a staple in my home. It is, by far, the best tasting protein powder I have ever ingested, and let me tell ya…I have tried quite a few over the years. Plus, it is low points (1sp)…and being back up and running on WW, I’m all about saving those valuable points! BUT, the person who has been eating/drinking this the most recently is my husband. He’s been training for a Ragnar Race, that he’s off doing as I type, and wanted a supplement that would taste good not doctored…just mixed in a cup with water…and this powder fits the bill. My favorite flavor at the moment is Cookies and Cream.
So, there ya go! A little short, a little sweet, but all favorites of mine. I hope you enjoy this small Friday post. Let me know in the comments what you’re loving today so I can check it out.
